Cockrell 2024 Weddle Sweet 16 Champ

Lucerne Valley, CA — Race teams got a lucky break in the recent heat when they converged in Lucerne Valley on September 21 for the MORE Light Wars. This event featured a day race plus a night race with winners determined by  combined times. Class 1600 racers were in for big stakes in the TJ Craig Memorial Weddle Sweet 16 Shootout, third and final special event of the 2024 Weddle Shootout Series.

Justin Cockrell 2024 Weddle Sweet 16 Shootout Champion. 1623 Justin Cockrell is no stranger to the Weddle Sweet 16 podium. After co-driving his way to first with Tim Craig in 2020, Cockrell managed second place finishes in both 2022 and 2023. 2024 must have been Justin's lucky number, finishing first to be crowned the 2024 Weddle Sweet 16 Champ. 1623 Brodie Martin took second followed by 1610 Brooke Perfect in third.

Three more wins for Weddle-equipped teams at the GG Lighting Light Wars. Day or night, Weddle-equipped had no problems finding the top of the podium. In Class 10, the dynamic duo of Cade Garcia and Nick Almada took the win in Albins AGB-equipped 1004. John Cox finished on top in Class 12 piloting Weddle S5-equipped 1248 and Thomas Burns finished first in Class 9 in Weddle-equipped 925.
